PROLOGUE BEGIN

It was a cool evening in the Potpourri forest as Asa was collecting medicinal herbs. It was kind of difficult living in a literally "living" forest. Though she was a Dryad herself, a species of gentle tree spirits who protect the forest, she goes against the Code of the Forest, rough-housing with other plant-life and other sentient plant beings whilst mistreating the environment. Not very Dryad like, huh? Screw what others think!~ As she passes by some Mantagoes, they snigger at her as a Mandragora that she had stepped on unintentionally hisses at her.

Just then, off in the near distance a giant black wyrm incinerates its way through the forest.

The beast was definitley not looking for friends, nor food, he threw his fire breath all around him as he made his way towards the place where Asa stood.

Asa is interrupted by a uproar in the distance, the forest spirits in a panic. Her eyes wide, her face contorted in confusion and apprehension. "What...What the hell??" She makes a break for it, but realizes she would not be able to outrun it. She dives out of the way, covering her head before impact to the ground. Just what was that thing?? And what was it doing HERE??

As the wyrm makes its way closer to the grove, its clear that black is not the only color going for it. It is also violent shades of white, the two colors clashing amongst one another creating a sickening pattern.

At first it seems hellbent on causing destruction to anything and everything in it's path, but eventually it locks its eyes on Asa, clearly this is what it came here for. Only about thirty yards away, he roars deeply and then picks up his speed, rushing straight for Asa.

Not a moment too soon before this happens, a woodland buck prances nearby, beckoning Asa to ride her.

Asa makes a fearful expression, her gaze fixated on her impending doom when the buck happens by. At first she stares at it with a nonplussed expression before shaking her head. Not much choice but to go over! That flaming sack of scales was definitely set on making her his next meal. She sprints over to the buck, jumping onto its back.

The buck takes off quickly, darting in the complete opposite direction of the wyrm. At first, they seem to outpace the beast, but seeing this only makes it angrier. It throws it's wings which were never meant for flight onto the ground and then dashes towards Asa with all four of it's limbs.

Slowly, it is catching up. And the buck knows this- before long it has no choice but to duck towards an alternate route where he knows there is safe haven.

Beyond a cluster of trees is a cave, man-made from the looks of it and relatively new. The buck dives into the cave and sprints down its dark corridor only to have a jet of flame only slightly lick it's backside.

They are safe, for now, as the dragon screeches angrily just outside. It is almost pitch black, and very hard to see.

Asa, who was clinging tightly to the buck, finally loosens her grip and exhales loudly with relief, glad they had managed to escape death. She blinks a few times, trying to grow used to the darkness. She hesitantly slides off of the buck, adjusting her pouch and flips her hair. "Well this is just great..." she mutters. She tries to look around, though the pitch-blackness of the cave was pretty much hindering of that. She puts a hand on the bucks back. She wasn't about to lose the one sentient thing in this cave. The one that had saved her no less. This cave wasn't here before though...She definitely would have noticed one around, seeing as she lives in the area. She calls out to see if anything, or anyONE was dwelling inside. "Hello??" her voice reverberates through the cave.

"hello...." A voice calls back.

Suddenly, two long, black bandaged arms appear from the darkness, each one fleshy, cut up, and mixed with red fingers, as if it were some kind of abomination.

A devil silhouette appears with two black wings, behind him large black and white dragon-like humanoids carrying giant weapons.

The devil starts laughing hysterically right before a portal is opened behind Asa, giving just enough time for a daring escape, as it closes behind her, the devil cursing in anger.
